Most students are required to write essays or dissertations before the completion of their degree. In all likelihood, you will be required to submit an essay as per this style in all likelihood. MLA style requires certain formatting to be done within the document, which can be learned through a few easy steps.
General Formatting:
No matter what your content for the essay is, the formatting for the essay must be done in a way that it agrees with the Modern Language Association’s stipulated layout.
Paper:
White 8 ½ x 11”
Borders:
1 inch margins should be used for all edges.
Indention:
The first word in the beginning of each paragraph must be indented one half inch.
Font:
SelectTimes New Roman as the default, with the size –12.
Spacing:
Double space the whole thing but only one space should be used after periods.
Page Numbers:
Place them in the upper right corner, alongside your name.
Other Headings in the Paper:
Titles:
All titles need to be written in italics.
Endnotes:
Endnotes should appear on a different page, but precede the bibliography or works cited page.
Names:
Names should be on the very first page in the upper left corner.Mentor’s name should come under your name. Subsequently, the name of the course should come beneath and the date should be mentioned below that.

Cited Works:
As per the MLA format, a bibliography is made to give references of the works cited. It depends upon the number of sources you have and from where you have obtained those sources (Internet, Book, or Journal)
For instance, if your sole source remains to be that of books, you will need to list the sources with the author’s last name, for instance the following citation:
